The Power of Art
There are many books and films using the title "The Power of Art", for example the wonderful series by Simon Schama, but I think that for an artist it can have a different meaning. Last summer I painted the painting you see on the right called "Mother-Peace", there is a bird sitting on the roof, which for me represents the spirit of my dead father, inside, behind the barred window is a pregnant woman holding a baby, which is me, outside is the blossomed tree. From the photograph you can see that the tree is now dead. I asked the gardener why the tree died and he has no idea why. So I do not know why the tree died but I do know that I can no longer sell this painting. |
